ORGANISATIONAL COMMUNICATION (40MARKS)
(TECHNICAL WRITING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING)
Answer any TWO of the four questions below. Each question carries 20 marks. You are reminded of the
necessity for Good English and orderly presentation of your answer. You will be required to write between 350-
400 words except otherwise stated in the specific instructions of each question. Avoid raw language and the
disclosure of your identity.
1) The Minister of Public Health is visiting your health centre. As a duty-conscientious nurse, you are worried about the
way expectant mothers, especially young girls, are maltreated during child birth. Write a speech to be presented to the
Minister on some forms of mistreatments and some possible remedies to them.
2) Write a letter of application to the Catholic Education Secretary for the post of a Building Construction teacher. You
may include reasons such as: educational experience, qualifications, professional experience and previous achievements

3) As the Sports Prefect of Saint Anne’s Girls’ College, you are surprised that young girls shy away from sporting
activities. Write a presentation to be delivered on the occasion of the 2020 National Youth Day stating the importance of
sports to the physical and spiritual well-being of everyone, in general, and the girl child in particular. Your tone should be
persuasive.
4) You are the General Manager of the South-West Development Authority (SOWEDA). Write and end-of-year report to
be presented to the Board of Directors, highlighting some major poverty reduction projects carried out in the course of the
year and those you intend to realize in the following year in order to guarantee food security and poverty alleviation in
your Region. You may state some of the difficulties you encountered in realizing some of the projects and how you intend
to overcome them in the next budgetary session.
