Theme: Belt Tensioning Device
I – SET UP
The assembly drawing on page 4 is a device that is used to tension the belt in a mechanism. This can be in the engine of a vehicle as shown on the perspective drawing (figure 1).
II – DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONING
The assembly drawing of the mechanism is presented in two views. It consists of the belt tensioner 1 that is mounted on the body of the engine with the help of part 2. Part ? on which the belt slips is mounted on belt tensioner with the help of shaft 2 that is held in position by part 5.
Depending on the desired tension on the belt, the operator can regulate the belt tensioner by loosening the parts 2 that permit the tensioner to rotate.
