QUESTION 1: TRANSLATION (80 MARKS)
Translate the following passage into French
Manga is a food seller. She sells vegetables, plantains, yams, rice, tomatoes and many others. As a widow,she works very hard in order to feed her children and send them to school. Last Friday, she went to the market. She spent the whole day there. There were not many buyers. She wasvery tired when she returned home. Unfortunately for her, she could not rest because her last son suddenlyfell sick. She carried him on her back and walked several kilometres to a health centre.She met a kind nurse who took the child’s temperature. It was high and she immediately gave him some
drugs. She also decided to admit him. This was when Manga went back home to cook. The nurse looked
after her son. Manga was completely tired. Yet, she did everything to go back to the dispensary with food.
QUESTION 2: ESSAY (80 MARKS)
In at least 140 and not more than 150 words(not counting names, figures, abbreviations and words in brackets),
write an essay in FRENCH on ONE of the following topics, using a suitable tense.
