You are the workers’ Representative of Cameroon Iron and Steel Industry, Tiko, which is plagued by gossip, a situation that affects productivity negatively. You intend to give a talk to your co-workers on what they should do to put an end to gossip as they celebrate the upcoming Labour Day.
Selecting relevant information from the points below, write in ONE paragraph of not more than 150
words, in a convincing manner, paying attention to grammar, spelling, punctuation and handwriting.
• Gossip is the exchange of personal information about an absent third party that is conveyed in an evaluative manner.
• Do not participate; walk away from the gossip.
• Give visual clues that you are interested in listening to a gossip.
• Sometimes people use the gossip to bring someone down; usually someone who has something others want; e.g power, reputation or money.
• Change the topic when a friend wants to have a gossip session or tactfully talk about something else.
• Man is a social being and gossip is a social activity. Everyone then has the propensity to gossip.
• Be busy. If you are preoccupied with your work you cannot be available for the latest story.
• When someone confides in you about someone else, question it.
• Gossip can have many diverse effects on an organisation and most of all on individual reputation.
• . Do not believe something unless you have clear proof.
