QUESTION 1: TRANSLATION (80 marks)
Translate into French
One bright day, Mrs Aishatou, an old woman, was sitting alone in her house. She had lost her husband and was living all alone. She had been sick the whole week but didn’t have money to go to the hospital. There was no one to prepare food and fetch water for her. She was weak and hungry. She had spent the whole day thinking of her late husband. She wished she could also die soon.
A few minutes later, someone knocked at the door. Mrs. AIshatou got up from bed and shouted: “Thank you, Lord, for answering my prayers. Take me to my husband.”
When she opened the door, she saw a young beautiful woman who was smiling.
-Mrs. AIshatou,” Fadi said, “I am the little girl you helped many years ago. I have come to take you.” Suddenly, Mrs. AIshatou’s life changed. Fadi who had become a doctor took her to live with her.
QUESTION 2: ESSAY (80 marks)
Using a tense suitable to your chosen topic, write an essay in French, of at least 140 and not more than 150 words, (not counting figures, words in brackets, abbreviations and names of people or places) on ONE of the following topics.
Credit will be given for the correct use of a variety of expressions, verbs, vocabulary and idioms. If you choose topic (b), your name must be Kassala and your address Lycee de Mololo.
If you choose topic (c), your essay must be based on the events in the pictures.
Off-topic material will earn no marks.
(a) Une nouvelle repandue par les reseaux sociaux a seine la panique parmi vos camarades mais bien apres, vous avez decouvert que c’etaient des rumeurs non fondees.
De quelle rumeur s’agissait-il ; et quelle etait la reaction de vos camarades ?
Donnez Ia reaction des autorites de votre etablissement ;
comment a-t-on etabli Ia verite a la fin et quelles ont ete vos impressions personnelles ?
(b) Sur le chemin de l’ecole votre camarade a eu un malaise. Vous l’avez constate et avez decide de l’aider en I’emmenant a l’hopital. Ecrivez une lettre a son Ore pour lui dire :
La nature de son malaise et comment il/elle reagissait ;
votre reaction et celle des personnes autour de vous qui lui ont porte secours ;
ce qui s’est passé a Phopital et comment tout s’est termine.
