INSTRUCTIONS TO READERS AND INVIGILATORS
1) ALL passages should be dictated by subject specialists.
2) The candidates should take down the passages dictated in the
ABO.
3) The transcription of the two passages dictated should be done in the ABO with each passage clearly
identified.
4) The reader should read the passages audibly clearly, pronouncing the words distinctly.
5) The reading of the passages should be preceded by the reading of a warm-up exercise, which is a
manner of preparing the candidates to get set for the examination proper.
6) Words marked
“OUT OF TIMING” should be dictated out of the examination time.
7) The reading of each passages is done
ONLY ONCE.
8) Candidates should take down ALL the TWO (2) passages dictated.
9) Candidates should transcript
ALL the TWO (2) passages dictated to them.
10) Five minutes interval should be allowed in-between the two passages.
11) The passages read should be handed to Superintendent immediately after dictation.
12) The reader should leave the examination centre as soon as he/she finishes the reading of the passages.
13) Readers and Invigilators should
STRICTLY respect the time allowed for the dictation and
transcription of both passages which should be
ONE (1) HOUR.
14) No dictionaries should be allowed in the examination room.
15) At the end of the located time for the examination, the invigilators should collect the ABO/scripts.
