Figure 1 shows a square grid with staff readings taken at 20m intervals over an area where it is proposed to erect a small building with a formation level of 100.16m. With reference to a site Bench Mark (BM2), whose height is 100.000m.
YOU HAVE BEEN PROVIDED :
- A computer with Softwares for calculations and drawings (Excel and Covadis) ;
- A printer ;
- A4 size drawing paper.
- 1. Determine the spot heights at each grid node. (5 marks)
- Given that the plane coordinates of point 1 are (X1=40.00m.Y1=60.00m,Produce the plan of the site to scale 1/250 on an A4 size drawing paper and trace contour lines through a vertical interval of 0.25m. (8 marks)
- Produce a list of coordinates X, Y, H of all the points. (1 mark)
- If the entire site is to be excavated to a height of 100.16m, determine the working height at each grid node. (2 marks)
- Calculate the volumes of earth works and produce a plan showing the regions of cut and fill and the volumes of cut and fill (4 marks)
NB: The finished plan should contain the cadastral information in figure 2 and 3s
