Mrs AGBOR is a very creative, innovative and proactive woman. However, she is very reserved and not an outgoing
personality
. During her final year 2018/2019 as a student in a Professional Business school in Bamcnda, she took interest
in starting and running a small business. She got her inspiration from her lessons in entrepreneurship, a course she
enjoyed so much
. After discovering that there were many more girls than boys on campus who like make upshe
decided
to go in lor mobile retailing of jewellery and related items. Alter discussing with her husband about the business
idea, he decided to support her with a startup capital of 100,000 F CFA. A few weeks after engaging in this business, she
successfully
made two business rounds gelling her supplies from Douala. Unfortunately, the amount ol repurchase during
the second round was much less than the purchase amount during the first round. After the second round, she was unable

the state of affairs of the venture, she gave no account of the activity and she was no longer interested in continuing with
the engagement. The business had failed summarily and nothing impressive was left about it.
After she graduated from school, the husband felt bad that she was idling at home and asked her to think of a small
business venture she can engage in from the comfort of their home. She quickly remembered the firewood business she
used to do before they got married. It had to do with buying wood from limber operators and splitting into pieces for
household consumption. She also added some basic foodstuff items for household consumption. Although the husband
interrogated
her that it wouldnt be a good idea for their local rural community, she insisted and finally engaged. Just like
the first time, the husband made available the startup capital of 350,000F CFA. During the second round, after selling all
the wood she got on her first round, she barely managed to buy half of the quantity she bought during her first round as
she didnt have any more money on her. By the end of the second round, she did not have anything more with her to.
continue the business. Just like the first case, this was also the end ,of the second venture.
After some years, she took interest in fast food business in her local rural community with a majority of the inhabitants
being peasant farmers. She desired to operate it from her home to meet supplies and customersorders. She then became
very anxious and presented the idea to the husband, with a lot of excitement, for financing. The husband, after thinking of
a strategy to discourage her
, resolved to ask her to present a feasibility report of her new line of business. Her preliminary
investigation led her to the following facts:
Product
name: Decor, Cakes and Cosmetics
Community: A rural community dominated
by illiterate farmers and unskilled labour
Population of the community: About 10
,000 people
