Ancient Egypt developed along the River Nile in north-eastern Africa. The river supported farming, transport, settlement and the growth of a centralized civilization.

  • Calendar, mathematics, medicine and engineering.
  • Pyramids, temples, sculpture and other architectural achievements.
  • Irrigation, organized government and artistic traditions.
