and the firewalls of a vehicle located at the front.
c- Cite one (01) reason why the crumple zone is designed with materials having elastic properties. (2 marks)
To absorb the impact of head-on collision, by transforming part of the kinetic energy during impact into a
controlled deformation.
d- Choose a material used to design crumple elements and justify your choice. (1.5 mark)
