The Host/Hostess

Why Both Roles Matter
Both roles directly shape the guest’s first impression and overall satisfaction. The host/hostess sets the tone at arrival and manages the flow of guests into the dining area, while the waiter/waitress carries that experience through the meal itself. Together, they support operational efficiency (smooth coordination between kitchen and dining area) and revenue (through upselling, efficient table turnover, and encouraging repeat business through good service).
